Chief's Island

Chief's Island is the largest island in the Okavango Delta and one of Botswana's most celebrated wildlife destinations. It is located within the Moremi Game Reserve in the heart of the Okavango Delta.

History



Chief's Island, known locally as Kubu Island, was once the exclusive hunting ground of the Batawana chiefs. Following the establishment of Moremi Game Reserve in 1963, the area became protected and is now one of Africa's premier safari destinations.
